Broken Road Hideaway

Broken Road Hideaway is a two-bedroom cabin with a big open loft, three bathrooms and a hot tub on the covered porch. It sleeps up to eight. The host puts it about half a mile from Choctaw Landing and about a mile from Beavers Bend State Park, in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.

The outside is dark blue-gray with black trim, and the covered porch runs along the side of the house. The hot tub sits on that porch, and further along there is a gas grill, a long table with chairs and an outdoor sofa set. Out in the gravel yard, turquoise Adirondack chairs and wooden benches circle a fire pit.

Inside, the main room has a vaulted pine ceiling with black beams, a gas fireplace with a TV over it, and tall windows facing the trees. Two tan leather sofas sit on a striped rug in front of the fireplace. A staircase with a black railing goes up to the loft. With that much glass, you can watch the woods from the sofa without going outside, and the leather seating faces the fireplace.

The kitchen has black cabinets, white counters, stainless appliances and an island with metal stools. A wood dining table sits next to the glass door that opens onto the porch, so carrying plates outside is easy. The cabin has a dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and a washer and dryer.

Both bedrooms are downstairs and each has a king bed. One has a sliding glass door out to the porch. The loft upstairs is a big open room with two queen beds in plaid bedding, a gray sofa, two green armchairs, a desk, a foosball table and an arcade basketball game. It works as extra bedroom and hangout in one. A travel crib is kept in one of the closets for families with a baby.

The three bathrooms include tub-shower combinations, and the two bedrooms are on the same floor as the main living space. No pets are allowed at this cabin. The layout keeps the bedrooms downstairs and the game loft up above, so the group can spread out at night.
