Timber Ridge Escape

Timber Ridge Escape is a log cabin with a covered porch, set in tall pines on a lot where the woods have been put to good use. It has four sleeping rooms, three bedrooms and a bunk room, and the yard is full of things to play on.

Walk out the back and you find a hand-built mini golf course winding between the trees, with a flag and a cup on every hole. A wooden playset with a green slide stands to one side. There are cornhole boards, a picnic table and a fire pit with green and black Adirondack chairs, and string lights run from the porch rails across the whole yard. A gravel lane runs along the front of the cabin.

The porch has a stone fireplace and a mounted TV, a gray sectional and a giant Connect Four game. The hot tub sits on a deck behind a wooden privacy fence, so you can use it without an audience.

Indoors, the great room has a stone fireplace that reaches the ceiling, cream sofas with blue and orange pillows and a shuffleboard table with a lit edge along one side. A slab desk by a window with teal curtains gives somebody a place to answer email. The kitchen has granite counters, dark wood cabinets, a stainless refrigerator and an island bar with four black stools, and the dining table has room for eight. The coffee bar by the back door has mugs and syrups set out.

The game room has a pool table with red felt, two metal bunk beds with sage-green bedding, bean bag chairs, a dartboard, a shelf of board games and a Pac-Man arcade game. The bedrooms have heavy timber beds, ceiling fans and TVs, and two of them have old skis mounted on the wall, one with blue-and-red bedding and one with green. The stone-walled shower in the bathroom is worth a look, and the other bath has a double sink in a granite vanity.

There is a washer and dryer in the hall. Beavers Bend State Park is roughly a ten minute drive from the cabin, which sits in Broken Bow.
