Taking a trip to Broken Bow, Hochatown or Beavers Bend State Park? You’re in luck! The Broken Bow area is the ideal destination for a quick weekend trip or a longer family stay. 1. Beavers Bend State Park

With more than 3,400 acres of parkland, Beavers Bend State Park is the perfect place for fishing, hiking, biking, boating, water sports and more. Enjoy the winding roads through the Kiamichi Forest to crystal clear waters of the Mountain Fork River to Broken Bow Lake. Stay in the park in a rustic cabin or at Beavers Bend Lodge water views of the lake. And don’t forget about the 18 hole Cedar Creek Golf Course!

2. David Boren Hiking Trail

Inside Beavers Bend State Park is the famous David Boren Hiking Trail, named after Oklahoma’s former governor. Considered one of the state’s best hiking trails, there are seven trails that offer one-, two-, and five mile hikes. 

3. Three Rivers Wildlife Management Area

Looking to do some fishing or hunting? Then look no further than Three Rivers Wildlife Management Area. This privately-owned area made up of more than 200,000 acres can be accessed with a Land Access Fee permit. Deer, quail, and turkey are among the animals you can hunt. Fish to your heart’s content for bass, channel catfish, and sunfish.

4. Area Wineries

Did you know that Southeast Oklahoma has several wineries? There’s Girls Gone Wine with wines fermented on site and a tasting room and gift shop.  There’s also Fish Tales Winery & Bistro and Knotted Rope Winery.

5. Choctaw Casino

Ready for world-class gaming, live entertainment and delicious dining? Choctaw Casino has you covered. From slots to table games, Choctaw Casino is ready to show you a good time.

6. Lower Mountain Fork River

Whether you want fishing, canoeing, or kayaking, the Lower Mountain Fork River is where you want to go. The beautiful Lower Mountain features 12 miles of year-round trout fishing.

7. Dining Out

If you’re staying at a Broken Bow cabin and want to try some of the local cuisine, you’re in luck. Some popular options include The Blue Rooster for home cooking, Grateful Head Pizza Oven & Tap Room, and Abendigo’s Grill & Patio.

8. Brewery & Distilling Tours

If you’re looking to try local craft brews, Beavers Bend Brewery offers brews like Bigfoot Brown (try and say that five times fast). Mountain Fork Brewery has its Sneaky Snake Belgian style golden ale among other choices. Both offer IPAs, brown ales, and pale ales. Hochatown Distilling Co. offers tours and tastings with its award-winning bourbon whiskey and Spear Point Vodka.

9. Hochatown Saloon

For a yummy meal with the family or for some nighttime fun with music and dancing, you won’t be disappointed at the Hochatown Saloon. This restaurant, bar and dance hall features dancing after 9 pm with concerts of country-western and rock music acts.

10. Horseback Riding

Let Riverman Trail Rides or Beavers Bend Adventures take you through Broken Bow’s natural beauty on a horseback ride. Make sure to call in advance for reservations.

11. The Maze of Hochatown

Get lost, but have fun while doing it! That’s what will happen at The Maze of Hochatown, a 29,000-square-foot wooden maze where you aim to find Hochatown Hotspots & Towers to complete your game card. Also onsite is Hochatown Escape Games, where you’ll have an hour to work with team members and solve a mystery.

12. Rent a Jeep or UTV

Looking for an adventure? Explore Hochatown and the Broken Bow area in a Jeep or UTV from Captain’s Hideaway Powersports Rentals. Enjoy a self-guided tour of the area in style! They supply the helmets and the trail maps.

13. Beavers Bend Mining Company

Let your kids be a pirate, prospector, and paleontologist all in one day—that’s what they can do at Beavers Bend Mining Company, where they’ll mine for gemstones and uncover dinosaur fossils and shark teeth. There’s also a pirate ship play area, a hand mold, and the Kraken 9 mini-golf course.

14. Hochatown Rescue Center & Petting Zoo

Animal lovers of all ages will enjoy the Hochatown Rescue Center and Petting Zoo, where they can pet and learn with barnyard animals, reptiles, and birds. Olivia the alpaca and Quackers the duck are among the petting zoo crew.

15. Beavers Bend Depot & Trail Rides

Wind your way through stunning nature views on a one-third size replica of the C.P. Huntington S.P. train (built in 1863!) at Beaver’s Bend Depot & Trail Rides. The ride will take you through Beavers Bend State Park game reserve. The train runs 2x per hour for about 20 minutes. There’s also horseback riding, sweet treats, and a gift shop.

16. Rugaru Adventures

Talk about a different type of view! Rugaru Adventures takes you on a zipline tour where you can enjoy spectacular scenery while traveling up to 35 miles per hour and at heights up to 60 feet above the ground. They also offer swincar rentals – an electric off-road vehicle built for one or two people.

17. Horseback Riding

18. Hire a Fishing Guide

A Broken Bow fishing guide can be like striking gold! At Rudy’s Guide Service, Tommy “Rudy” Rudisill will show you Oklahoma hospitality and help you come home with some fish. Whether you’re fishing for large mouth bass, small mouth bass, spotted bass, sand bass or crappie, a guide can be helpful to both beginners and avid fishermen alike.

19. Spend a Day on the Lake

Pack the sunscreen, grab the kids and head to the lake! Whether you’re looking for a pontoon boat just for the family or a 14 person double decker, Beavers Bend Marina on Broken Bow Lake is the one to call. They take reservations for boats, jet skis and slips and are the only marina on Broken Bow Lake.

20. Relax & Enjoy Your Cabin
