Description

Campfire Stories is a five-bedroom cabin in Broken Bow that sleeps 20, and pets are welcome (up to three). Most of the living happens in the backyard. There is a private pool with chairs sitting right in the shallow end, a row of loungers under orange umbrellas, and a hot tub under its own timber roof. Pool heat is available if you ask before you arrive. The backyard is fenced around the pool, which helps when kids are running loose.

Past the pool there is a fire pit ringed with blue Adirondack chairs. Games out here include cornhole, ping pong, giant Connect Four and gaga ball, and the kids have a playset with a blue spiral slide. The covered back porch has a fireplace that burns gas, an outdoor TV, cushioned seating and a long dining table, and the gas grill runs off the cabin’s own propane line, so nobody is out there swapping a bottle halfway through supper. Firewood is included.

Inside, the living room has a big brown leather sectional and a stone fireplace with a smart TV hung above it, and a shuffleboard table sits in the room. The fireplaces run seasonally, October through May 15. The kitchen is the part cooks tend to like: navy blue cabinets, white counters, double ovens, a dishwasher, a griddle and a blender. The island seats six and the dining table seats six more.

The four king suites each have their own bathroom, a TV and a closet. Two of them also have a set of stacked twin XL bunks, which gives you flexibility if a couple brings kids. Upstairs, the bunk room has two queen beds and two twin trundles, and there is a small loft with a balcony and two chairs where somebody can read in peace.

The separate game room is its own hangout, with a couch and loveseat, air hockey, a pool table and two arcade machines, plus a queen Murphy bed that folds down from the wall. It has its own full bathroom, which makes it a real extra bedroom when you need one.

A half bath sits between two of the bedrooms, a full-size washer and dryer are on hand, and Wi-Fi is free. Days go to Broken Bow Lake or the Beavers Bend State Park trails, and evenings go to the yard.
