Ripple River Retreat

Ripple River Retreat is a river cabin first. A path behind the house goes down to the Glover River, and two kayaks with life vests are part of the setup. The listing puts it 15 to 20 minutes from Hochatown, so dinner out means a drive, and what you get in exchange is a river in the back yard.

The house is a long timber-and-stone building with a gabled porch out front and balconies across the back of the second floor. It has four bedrooms and four baths, and it sleeps twelve. Inside, the great room is pine from floor to ceiling, with tall windows, French doors out to the porch, blue sofas around a gas fireplace and a big TV on the wall.

The kitchen has navy cabinets, a marble-look island with leather stools and a stainless refrigerator. A dining table seats eight, and the island seats four more. There is a coffee station by the window with a Keurig and bottles of flavored syrup, and a waffle maker sits on the counter nearby.

Three of the bedrooms are kings, with pine walls, wall TVs and ceiling fans. Two of them have bathrooms with a freestanding soaking tub, and the showers are tiled walk-ins. One of the kings is on the main floor and the other two are up the stairs. The bunk room upstairs has a full-over-queen bunk and a bathroom of its own next door. The living room sofa folds out and a queen air mattress can be added, which is how the count gets to twelve. A washer and dryer sit side by side in the laundry room, next to a high chair.

The covered back porch is where the river view is. An outdoor pool table sits at the rail looking over the field toward the water, and the hot tub is on a covered patio beside the stone wall. The listing also mentions a Blackstone grill, a fire pit and cornhole. In the photos the kayaks are lying on the grass behind the house.

Up to four dogs are allowed. The cabin is outside Broken Bow, Oklahoma. The listing puts Beavers Bend State Park about 20 minutes away and Broken Bow Lake about 25.
